In an interview recently I was asked “In one word what epitomizes this season’s style offerings?” My answer – “EXCESS” Statement prints and styles, OTT embellishments, standout metallic splashed everything. O M G!

Today I’m talking ONE, just ONE of the many EXCESS trends – Statement Sleeves – they’re huge and definitely a strong contributor to the EXCESS trend… Big Bells, extra-long, Flounce and Cold-Shoulder. Bohemian billows to sculpted ultra-modern cuts. Here’s a little run down of what’s trending and some of what’s on offer. So scroll through and decide if and if so, what’s for you…

The Bell Sleeve

The flare of the sleeve variety – this time ‘round with a chic twist and trending on everything from blouses, tunics and dresses. Team your statement bell sleeve tops with a pared back, minimalist silhouette in a chic neutral colour.

This adorable little Riddel Classic Dress by THREE OF SOMETHING is pretty… and pretty amazing. As the temperature drops layer up with leggings, base layers, a vest or jacket and float on into Winter feeling cozy.

If you’re more an ultra modern, chic and sculpted styler this Monroe Bell Sleeve Ponte Dress by DECJUBA may be more your thing…

Or add a little Metallic glam with this Kinetic Top by Pilgrim Clothing

The Flounce Sleeve

Similar to the Bell Sleeve but the gathered ruffle effect makes for a more feminine style. Ranging from small and minimal to huge and dramatic proportions… Both are trending and statement-making in their own way giving options for your individual style. I particularly love Flounce Sleeve tops teamed jeans and tunics with leggings and ankle boots – that “Pretty Tough” styling…

This is definitely a  SPLURGE piece! – the Magnolia Blossom Ruffle Top by Romance Was Born  it is pretty as a picture…

Or this Hannah Blouse by WE ARE KINDRED  sure to put a smile on your pretty face!

But sometimes we just crave the simple things in life and this one ticks that box… the Andii Top by all about eve

The Cold-Shoulder Sleeve

The cold-shoulder sleeve – cut-outs at the shoulders – is making a big splash. Perfect if you like to bare a little, but not too much skin. Lot’s to love about this one…

LOVE this Cold-Shoulder Top by KAREN MILLEN and the paired back casual styling of this holds a lot of appeal in my opinion!

If you like a little more detail – THIS!!! Open Shoulder Top by MLM which I love styled with the Mum style step hem jeans

Or take it up a level with this Blushing Gumnut Wrap Top by FRESH SOUL that has endless styling options…

So that’s the long and the short of the Statement Sleeve. Are you in?

PS I’m a proud promoter of stores and brands I love and respect (BUT not of the ones I don’t!) Meaning any of the pieces promoted here I would happily wear myself or recommend to my clients
