Following a few years of loving up our huge scarves, and don’t panic they aren’t going anywhere fast, BUT there is a new kid back in style town…

Let me re-introduce… THE LITTLE SQUARE SCARF.

Think sexy stewardess or cool cowgirl –  worn street style…

You possibly have a draw full of these from an era gone by?

I’ve loved digging a few of mine out. My two favourites are ones I picked up in my Tokyo days some 20+ years ago…

I wore this one out to dinner with Mr Style Manifesto on the weekend – got a big wink of approval too 😉

Think of these as ‘pretties’ rather than a ‘practicalities’. (I wear a warm scarf over the top when I’m out in the cold as it’s freezing here in Adelaide at the moment!)

My top tips on wearing THE SQUARE SCARF

Choose a print you love – one that speaks your style…

Or go for a block colour – especially if you’re wearing a busy print in your clothes…

The size doesn’t matter (too much)

  • The smaller squares are best for the simple neckerchief tie.
  • First fold two corners of the scarf into the middle, continue to do this until the scarf has reached your desired width.
  • Wrapped once around the neck and tied off in a double knot on the side…

  • The larger ones work too!
  • First fold two corners of the scarf into the middle, continue to do this until the scarf has reached your desired width.
  • Wrapped twice and tied off in a double knot on the side…

Layer up

  • Layer your favourite fine, princess length necklace underneath – super simple and creates an effortlessly stylish look – tick!

Or try something outside the square…

While I have a few oldies but goodies, I love these looks so will definitely be buying a few in fresh prints for now and moving into Spring.

Shop my 3 favourites here…

1. THE STARS!

A statement Black and Silver Galaxy print

Pair with denim, black, grey, ANY block colour or bold strips…

2.  THE NATURALISTIC

Soft colours combined with a pretty naturalistic print

Pairs perfectly with your chambray shirt or a white Tee and Denim – ooohhh aaahhh

3. THE CLASSIC

A designer branded number like this gorgeous Oroton one can be ooohhh lala chic.

I personally prefer this more classic style dressed down a bit with at least a little faded denim…
